Meet 'Devin', the AI Software Engineer

What we know: Forget Sora, Cognition AI just dropped a baby AGI, and his name is Devin. Devin may not going to be as appealing to the masses as Sora, but the Dev community is going crazy!

Here’s what we know so far:

The Breakdown

• ️Devin is UI/UX focused. For example, it doesn't need to show you what it's doing on the browser, but it does.

• The workspace is made up of four tabs, the prompt tab, browser, shell/command line, and the code editor. You can track every single movement.

• ️The product is finished, it's not a demo. Despite speculation that they dropped the demos to generate hype, Cognition claims that it’s ready for the market.

• ️It auto-deploys to other apps like Netlify, protects API Keys, and can multitask without interrupting any running programs. Oh, and it can create images.

• One major con is that Devin is slow and clunky. It can take him a long time to complete tasks and other times, he can’t complete the task at all.

• Experts like Ethan Mollick believe that Devin’s capabilities will thoroughly shine through if it’s powered by ChatGPT 5. There’s speculation that behind the background, Devin is held together by strings.

What’s happening here? We all know that Copilot is the best way to access ChatGPT 4 for free, but they’ve added a deal sweetener to the mix.

They’ve launched a free version of ChatGPT GPTs in Copilot. To access Copilot GPTs or create your own, follow these steps:

1. Visit Copilot’s website and sign in.

2. On the right side of the page, choose a Copilot GPT from the list.

3. Start chatting with your selected GPT.

4. If you have a Copilot Pro Account, you can create your own GPT by clicking "See all Copilot GPTs" and then "Create a new Copilot GPT".

5. Follow the chat for creating your GPT or enter details in the “Configure” tab and click “Publish” when finished.
